Our Northwest Illinois CEO students had the opportunity to hear from Lance Ferguson, owner and founder of Davis and Company Productions, who shared his journey of building a business from the ground up.

As our students continue developing their leadership and communication skills, they are taking on the responsibility of introducing our guests. Great job to Riley for introducing Lance and welcoming him to our class!

From launching his DJ business during COVID to working multiple jobs to make ends meet, Lance shared the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of networking, knowing your target market, creating a solid business plan, managing finances, and learning from customer feedback. He also discussed life as a SOLOPRENUER and how AI can be a valuable tool but can never replace human connection and creativity.

A key takeaway: Passion is important, but understanding the business side is what turns a hobby into a business.

Thank you, Lance, for sharing your experiences and giving our students a firsthand look at entrepreneurship.
